Easy as Pie

7.31.14

7.31.14 shoes

Ah, maxi dresses. Summer’s little helper. I mean, how much easier does it get? Take the dress off the hanger. Add cute shoes. And some earrings. And woosh! You’re looking fabulous and out the door in just minutes. And if the dress came from Walmart? Well isn’t that just the icing on the cake? I think so.

Oh, the Shoes

7.26.14

Well hello, gorgeous! I’m not talking about me. I’m talking about the SHOES. Seriously, these shoes are as close to perfect as any shoe I’ve found. They’re just the right tannish/brownish/taupey color to make them neutral bliss. I have a feeling you’ll be seeing them a lot.

The dress is a little beauty I picked up at the LOFT Outlet last spring. It’s perfect for work, a wedding, or an evening out with my favorite guy. Hmmm…I think AH needs to take me on a date. Soon.

What I wore:

Tan and white striped dress: The LOFT Outlet
Cable & Gauge cardigan: SteinMart
Franco Sarto shoes: DSW

Pattern Mix

7.30.14

This what I wore to church on Sunday – you can’t see it very well, but the shoes match the green in the ruffled tank perfectly. There’s a subtle pattern in the cardigan so there’s not too much going on. In fact, I’m almost in Target style head to toe. Almost. The wedge sandals are from Francesca’s – one of my favorite places for fun and sometimes a little quirky style finds.

Check out my new music page: http://www.reverbnation.com/loriyeary!

What I wore:

Merona ruffled tank: Target
Merona cardigan: Target
Merona skinny boyfriend jeans: Target
Jun & Ivy green wedges: Francesca’s

Layers

7.28.14

Yes, you can layer in the summer! I’ve been layering tank tops recently and really like the look. Not only can you mix colors, the two tanks take care of any possibility of a bra strap peeking out. Win-win! The fitted look of the tanks works well with the looser (and very cool) linen pants making it a great outfit for hot summer days.

Check out my new music page: http://www.reverbnation.com/loriyeary!

What I wore:

Merona tanks: Target
Olive linen pants: Coldwater Creek
Rampage brown wedges: DSW Shoes
Gold necklaces: LYDesigns

Lacy Days Part Four

7.27.14

Thanks for all the nice comments! I didn’t realize I’d stuck such a positive chord. It seems a lot of you have a lace top of some kind languishing in your closet. I hope these posts have given you some ideas on how to wear it differently.

I love the freshness of this particular outfit. The floral skirt is so great and easy to wear, I may have to look for some other ways to wear it. Stay tuned!

Lacy Days Part Three

7.23.14

I’m in the pink today. Literally. These pink pants just make me so happy – and are sure to brighten up even the cloudiest of days. They are probably the brightest piece of clothing I own and just about the biggest fashion risk I’ve taken this year. Definitely out of my comfort zone, but I love them so they’re worth it!

Have you ventured into the world of brightly colored pants? Or maybe a skirt? Jump right in! The water’s fine! I dare you…

Today we take the lace top to work. The khaki skirt is a great one from Target and the shoes? Great Comfort Plus yellow pumps. And they are comfortable. All day. Doesn’t get much better than that!

Lacy Days

7.22.14

I love this lace top – it’s the epitome of summer and appropriately cool and comfortable. And versatile! I had so many options when I was deciding what to wear Sunday morning I had a tough time deciding, so I thought I show you three of them this week. It’s amazing what you can do with something as simple as a white lace top.

One Dress 5 Ways – Day Five

Sometimes the smallest change can make a big difference. The last time you saw the purple shoes it was with a chunky statement necklace. Today it’s a smaller scale (but still colorful) flower necklace. The colors all still work together, but with the smaller scale necklace the shoes really pop! Don’t be afraid to venture out of your comfort zone in combining colors. You never know what fun you can have until you try!

What I wore:

Turquoise knit dress: New York & Co.
MODA purple shoes: DSW
Flower necklace: LYDesigns
Straw multi-color handbag: Steinmart
Gold Earrings: Charming Charlie
