Black and Blue

2.4.14

The great pattern experiment has been a lot of fun. I’ll still be doing some, but I think I’ll taper off a little. People are beginning to talk… Someone recently referred to my pattern mixing as “contrarian dressing”. There’ve been a few other descriptions, but I don’t want to offend anyone so I’ll just leave it at that.

That said, I really like today’s mix. The weather was extremely mild (upper 60s this afternoon!) so I didn’t want to wear a sweater, but still wanted to mix it up a little. I combined two of my favorite pieces: Black and white button down shirt and a blue and black striped t-shirt. Just because I can. The black booties were an easy choice – I’m finding more and more ways to wear them!

Have you tried pattern mixing yet? I had to laugh when I received the most recent Land’s End catalogue for Spring 2014. It’s FULL of fun pattern mixing ideas. Maybe I won’t end this experiment after all…

What I wore:

Black and White checked shirt:Ross
Merona black and blue striped t-shirt: Target
Jordache light washed denim leggings: Walmart
Nine West black booties: DSW

Frugally yours,

Lori
