Style Savvy DFW

Affordable Fashion for Every Day

Wardrobe options

It’s September already! I can’t believe summer is technically over – mainly because it’s still in the 90’s here in Texas. From what the Farmer’s Almanac says it will be the end of September before we see cooler temperatures. But I’m ready for Fall. Now!

Don’t get me wrong, I like summers. But Fall is one of my favorite times of year. Cool days, cozy sweaters, boots, scarves – did you notice the apparel theme? There’s just something about a comfy sweater that makes my smile. Sorry, I was having a seasonal moment. Back to today…

Transitioning from Summer to Fall can be a bit of a challenge wardrobe wise. The skirt in today’s outfit could definitely go into Fall with the addition of a long sleeve chambray shirt, black tights and boots. Or even a copper colored sweater and brown tights and boots. Or a white button down shirt and denim jacket with black flats. Get the picture? As you look at your Fall wardrobe, look for ways to incorporate some of your summer pieces – it will go a long way to stretching your clothing dollars – and give you fun options throughout the year!

Today’s outfit:
Merona floral print pencil skirt: Target
Merona light denim knit shirt: Target
Mustard color leather belt: Target
Comfort Plus by Predicitons yellow pumps: Payless
Yellow statement necklace: CATO
Orange bubble necklace: J Crew Outlet

Frugally yours,

P.S. It’s not too late to enter the contest to win a FREE pair of jeans from Coldwater Creek! Check out the original post for details. Deadline is this Friday, September 13th!!
